I am extremely grateful for Microsoft Research (Asia) for their continuing supports and believing in what we have been doing. Since my very early career in NTU, they have been sending me the much-needed grants, mentoring, friendship, and publicity for myself and my students.

非常感謝（亞洲）微軟研究院對我們長久以來研究的支持，以及相信我們一直專注努力的：大規模影像／視訊上的機器智能。從我剛回台大時，就及時支持我急需的研究經費、友誼、合作討論、跟各種機會。

在2017年專注在AI核心技術以及前瞻應用的提案中，我們也幸運的有繼續雙方合作的機會。我們將嘗試利用流行社群中大量的留言、互動、穿著照片，打造具有【鄉民】特色的留言互動系統。

It’s exciting that our new proposal is selected in “2017 Microsoft Research Asia Collaborative Research Projects.” The theme is to support advanced researches in greater Asia for AI and AI-related areas, including machine learning, integrative intelligence, visual description, deep neural networks, and so on.

Collaborating with Xing Xie and Ruihua Song, we are to leverage huge user comments, profiles, and photos from the fashion social media to investigate brand-new aspects to enable “netizen-style” commenting (fashion-bot) for consumer dressing.

Meanwhile, it’s more than honored that our team (me and Dr.-to-be Yin-Hsi Kuo) are selected as the cover photo for the announcement.
